Agriturismo Le Murelle is a typical farm from the 1700s and is located in the Tuscan countryside just 7km from the historic center of Lucca. The estate includes the manor house, a family chapel still consecrated and four large farmhouses once inhabited by peasant families. The whole farm was bought in the early years of the 20th century by the present owner’s grandfather but a date carved in the cellar indicates that the estate was established at least two centuries earlier. It covers an area of 30 hectares cultivated with vineyards, olive groves and woodland stretch from the main road to the crest of the hill. Thirty years ago the farm by than worn down by years of sharecropping, got a new lease of life when agriturism was added to its activities. Older people used to refer to the farm as the “red houses” in addition to its proper name and for this reason the farm house has been repainted in shades of red. In the farm we produce excellent extra virgin olive oil, delicious honey and we host a small flock of eight pomarancina sheep. One of the large farmhouses, after a careful renovation respecting traditional skills, was adapted for tourist hospitality. Depending on the season and by reservation we offer breakfast and tastings of our products.

Accommodation and services
Guests are accommodated in old farmhouses offering all the comforts such as spacious rooms, central heating, open fireplace, free wifi, flat screen TV, windows with mosquito nets and in the two larger apartments have disabled access. Moving outside the apartments, guests will have access to large green areas, numerous gardens and delightful outdoor areas furnished with sun loungers to relax and enjoy the fresh air in total privacy. The farm is also equipped with a convenient parking area, various barbecues for tasty dinners, a large play area for children and adults and a large swimming pool with solarium surrounded by vineyards. Sea, mountain, lake, thermal baths and various cities of art such as Lucca, Pisa, Florence and Siena are very close. The farm’s location ensures the peace of of the countryside with easy access to the main road, therefore perfect both for those who want to relax in the heart of the country and for those love to be close to the seaside, places of culture, mountains and lake.

The interiors of the various apartments combine the rustic traditional style with the addition of personal touches, refined by the owner Daniela ensuring guests a welcoming and affectionate ” home from home ” feel. This is made possible thanks to the friendliness and helpfulness of Daniela and her husband Giulio and all the other people who, with dedication and enthusiasm, contribute to making the farm a unique place. Every day Daniela personally changes the flowers, picking those growing wild in the meadows, along with sprigs of laurel, medlars and mimosa. “Often when guests thank me for their stay they mention that they especially appreciated the open areas around the house. When they come outdoor they are in the open countryside and not in an enclosed garden. Setting off up the hill they can view almost the whole estate “.
